It is safe to assume every romcom fan has already binge-watched all episodes of My Life With The Walter Boys so if you have not, it is with no regret that we say that you are no longer a part of this fan club. I mean, the first season dropped way back in December 2023, so what really is your excuse?

Why You Should Watch My Life With The Walter Boys

The show is packed with all sorts of feels, sliced and diced and served as you run along with each scene. My life with the Walter Boys no doubt is an awesome show! however, it is somewhat hard to know what makes it this enticing— could it be those sweet scenes of teen love and romance, heartbreaks levelled in between coyness and drama hitting all the nostalgia notes. I guess the knowing will be in the eating of this pudding.

My Life with the Walter Boys, which comes in 10 episodes, follows the life of a 15-year-old, Jackie Howard. She packs and leaves the life she grew up knowing in Manhattan to live with the best of her mother in Colorado after her family dies in a tragic car accident.

Katherine Walter, played by Sarah Rafferty and her husband have quite a large family, and she has to compete for space and everything with the ten children of the Walters. If you love chaos, high school drama, small towns and farmland shows, this is the next show for you.

And oh, if you are reading this now, you are in luck… You don’t have to wait like the rest of us for the next season. It will be released come August 28th.

I did mention you can watch it on Netflix, right?

You’d think My Life With The Walter Boys is IT, but hey, before MLWTWB, there was the Summer I Turned Pretty and dear, it is a good watch, especially if you are looking for a lovey-dovey comforting show to binge.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is quite similar to My Life With The Walter Boys, except for the varied setting; it is centred around two brothers who are both in love with Belly.

You can stream all three seasons on Prime Video.

When it comes down to Ginny and Georgia, I simply have no words to describe the entirety of the show. Unlike My Life With The Walter Boys, where you can at least tell the direction of the plot, Ginny & Georgia is the exact opposite.

You’d think you have seen it all, only for  Austin to blatantly lie through the back of his teeth in court and have his father sentenced. The intricacies are inexplicable. What I know is, since its first season, I have always looked forward to Georgia’s Southern accent, an angry Ginny, Zion’s softness, and is Maxine a character or what?

I genuinely did not fully grasp all the fuss about Max. Maybe you would when you binge-watch all seasons on Netflix. We know for sure another season is in the pipeline— for all of our sakes, it better be the last season!

The only similar thing between My Life With The Walter Boys and Never Have I Ever is the love triangle. This show follows an Indian-American high school girl who is smart to fault. She navigates her everyday life, dealing with the loss of her father, her culturally grounded Indian traditions and infusing them into her life as a teenager who is also living in the United States of America. For someone like Devi, who is that smart, you would think life and social life would come easily for her, but she battles boys, love, decisions, and all that teenage drama entails.  All four seasons can be streamed on Netflix.

Trust showrunners to milk one cow until there is no trace of milk left. When I first saw XO, Kitty, I was simply shocked because we had had enough from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, and some of us really wanted to have memories of that sweet little witty Kitty. Who wants an all-grown Kitty in Korea discovering herself, falling for men and women, making mistakes and all that mess it comes with?

We didn’t want that, but on the back of our allegiance and love for Lara Jean, we watched it anyway, and it was an okay show. The first season was dropped two years ago, and the second season a few months ago. It has been renewed for season three. Is XO, Kitty a show we are looking forward to?, No! Are we going to sit through and watch it? Yes!

Side note: If you are not part ways with Little Miss young Kitty, do not bother watching this!

This is your typical rich boy acting all arrogant towards the poor kids; they later work together and fall irrevocably in love. And just like all the others we have seen, the rich parent is against such an abominable relationship, but the two lovebirds always go against all odds to be together. This time, it comes with a pack of steamy s3x scenes, sweet vanilla love and chivalry romance. This should be your next watch. This is nothing like My Life With The Walter Boys, but it sure is something. Stream season one on Prime Video.

Season two is set to be released this fall.
