Is your 9-5 paycheck stretching as far as it should, or are you still insistent on being an independent woman who can take the heat?

See, this life is not all bark and no bite. It is, in fact, hard. Surprisingly, it is not taking it a notch down for anybody.

At this point in my life, I am fully convinced that the relationship between bills and money landing in your account is almost inseparable. What in the devil’s name are all those random emergencies that come from nowhere the moment an alert comes through?

Like, make it make sense to me because…

Anyhoo, this article is for the ladies out there who want to earn that extra cash, no matter how little, because the 9-5 is burning them out, yet they have little to no cash to show for it. So if you are part of the Miss Independent bandwagon, you may want to take a seat at the far end of the room.

This one is not for you.

For years now,  men have had a penchant for talking about how life comes off easy for women. About how everything is handed out to women on a platter of gold, and even in instances where they have to make any financial decision, it is subsidised in a way that we can afford and still have some to save.

Whereas there is a hint of truth in there, let’s not forget how  imperative it has become for women to be more financially stable, especially in this day and age, where men will not hesitate to throw in the what do you bring to the table question.

Here is the thing: the advent of social media has made it so easy for anybody at all to earn money. You can literally sit in the comfort of your living couch, no fancy shop, no to and fro, and still be cashing out.

We have put together a list of  5 Businesses Every Woman Can Start and Actually Make Money.

5 Businesses Every Woman Can Start and Actually Make Money

First on our list is Bedding Business: show me a home that does not have bedsheets, pillowcases, duvets, comforters, and I will share my Momo pin with you. We went to bed one day, and we woke up to everyone suddenly living in an apartment, with an aesthetically pleasing setting, which includes a nice bedroom, a well-made bed with comfortable pillows. With GRWM on the rise and people setting up cameras, claiming they just woke up from bed— selling anything that would add an extra layer of beauty in this make-believe, perfect life era on social media will bring you money.

The second on our list of  5 Businesses Every Woman Can Start and Actually Make Money is Hair Business: Have you seen the girlies? The women? And how yearn for hair of all types, as though their lives depend on it? Hair has passed the stage where it was a luxury that only a few rich girls could afford.

Hair has now turned into a basic need for lots of women, and these days, men are even joining. So, unless you are doing something wrong, not selling quality, or lacking marketing skills, because if you are doing everything right? You are going to make sales.

Number three on our list is bags, purses and shoes: after they have gotten a good sleep, a good hair day, they would need bags and shoes to complete the outfit of the day. That is where you come in.

The fourth on our list is the thrift business: social media has now become shopping malls and boutiques. Take advantage of that. Whether it is thrifted fashion, accessories or something you made yourself, there is always someone waiting to buy. Fashion is something that never sleeps; people are always going to need clothes and change styles.

Last but not the least is content creation or freelance writing: Brands are desperate for people who can write words that sell. If you can tell stories, explain ideas, or even create catchy captions, you can earn from it. Start small with blogs, social media posts, or newsletters — and scale up as your portfolio grows.

Note that this will not come easily. You are not going to make billions in the blink of an eye, but with determination and the right attitude, you will cash out. And if it does not work, know there is something out there for you— you just haven’t found it yet.
